THE Art OF Elizabeth Hood

After thirty-five years in the corporate world, I returned to what I loved when I was young -- art.  I fell in love with pastels as a tool that allowed me to learn to use color to create paintings while using the drawing skills I learned long ago.  I also paint or draw in other mediums such as colored pencil, acrylics, watercolors and of course, graphite pencil.

As an artist, I try to see places, people, animals and objects with a lens that emphasizes shapes, color, textures and contrast.  This view is what I hope to bring to my paintings to present what we see every day in a fresh or unique way.   I find that I’m constantly amazed at the beauty and diversity surrounding us and I hope you will see that in my paintings.

I accept commissions for portraits of people, pets and places.   Contact me for more information.
